Pair Of French Charles X Patinated Bronze Candelabra Lamps, Circa 1830s

Chairish

$4,500

Dating to the early 19th century (circa 1830s), this pair of period Charles X lamps would make fantastic light sources for an office desk, a pair of bedside nightstands, or a long console. Originally two patinated bronze candelabras, the candleholders have been fitted with a high-sheen black circular shade and white lining and electrified for use in American homes. The center bobeche of the candelabras rises higher than the other four arms, and this elevated cup has been topped with a faux candle sleeve that supports the harp. Elaborate foliate rinceaux form each of the arms, with additional leaf motifs comprising the gilded rims of all five bobeche. The arms tightly envelop the base of the elevated bobeche, terminating above a gilded, protruding ring at the top of the dark brown, fluted column. At the base of the column is a golden leaf cup with curled tips over a tripod of monopodial paw feet with leafy kneecaps in gold. Beneath the paws is a triangular plinth with concave sides, embellished with a band of gilded leaves. Our Charles X candelabra lamps are quite regal, and would add a touch of refinement to any room they are added.
