This is a fabulous and very rare handcrafted African head lamp made in 1955 and signed by the artist Goodwin. I only found one other that sold on 1st Dibs. It is quite a heavy table lamp composed of wrought iron, perhaps bronze for the earrings and what appears to be some kind of sculptural clay composite. It has the original cloth cord which I had checked out with my lighting shop, which has been in business for over 60 years. It is perfectly good and safe. The top sockets were replaced at some point and I purchased the new high end finial. There is minor wear to the iron and a little to the face. There are two hairline cracks on either side of the bottom of the neck that don’t affect the appearance. The patina is just wonderful. It measures 25” no including the finial. The diameter of the base is 9 3/4”. The width with earrings is 10”.
