Dutch Delft blue and white chinoiserie table lamp by Royal Tichelaar Makkum, hand-painted circa 1948–1979 and converted to lighting by Amitābha Studio, paired with a new coral pleated silk shade. Flowering-vase panels in graded shades of blue alternate with foliage panels on a ribbed octagonal ceramic vase—a tin-glazed earthenware (faience) base drawn from the classic Delft repertoire and finished with custom brass fittings and a fabric-wrapped blue cord. Newly wired for U.S. use; international plug customization available at no charge. Height includes the shade. The base began as a mid-twentieth-century vase from Royal Tichelaar Makkum, recognized as the oldest company in the Netherlands, working from the Frisian town of Makkum where a brickworks on the site is documented as early as 1572. The Tichelaar family has run the pottery since the seventeenth century and, from around 1890, concentrated on decorative tin-glazed earthenware in the Delft tradition.
