Incredible one of a kind piece of Italian ceramic art! This vintage scraffito (etched or scratched design into the ceramic clay base) lamp is decorated in elaborate scroll work leaves and animals in vibrant shades of gold and accented with luxurious metallic gilt gold glaze throughout. The background is a lush emerald green glaze.The top has handpainted gold scrolls painted on a cream background. It features the original harp and brass base. It looks to have possibly been rewired at some point, but the current plug and wiring are not new. This piece has the appearance that it could have been in a large Italian Villa or estate. We have never seen another like it! Measures: 19" h to top of socket, 29" h to top of existing harp. Base is 5" in dia.
