The inspiration comes from the desire to turn stones into art, considering sculptures not as autonomous objects but as forms that relate to the viewers and the environment.Merging art and design in striking contemporary sculptural items, Castones was founded in 2019 by the Italian architect Erica Zanella.Castones feature organic and minimalist silhouettes characterized by irregular curves and sinuous shapes. Their asymmetry is harmoniously balanced, creating an overall sense of elegance.The internal opening attracts the viewer to see through, hinting at the sculpture’s potential function. These soft, sinuous openings evoke a sense of natural erosion, lending the piece an organic quality as if it were shaped by nature rather than human intervention.The surface of the sculpture has a grainy texture that suggests the raw quality of natural stone.
