This is a rare set of 3 antique French chromolithographs that date to 1897. They originally came from an album of unusual animals and insects, Nos Betes. The album contained colored chromolithographs of illustrated drawings of animals. This set of 3 lithographs feature numerous variaties of birds found in the wild: water birds such as the pelican, the tern, the loon; more common birds such as the finch, the oriole, the crow; and also birds of prey such as the vulture, the falcon, the buzzard, the eagle. Each chromolithograph is signed by the illustrator. They are done in neutral color tones They are in excellent condition with no age markings, discolorations, stains or rips. Clean edges consistent with age and history. Each is 9 x 12.75 inches in size.
