Artist Background Clyde Eugene Scott was an important figure in the Southern California art community and a member of the historic California Art Club. He served as President of the Painters & Sculptors of Los Angeles (1938–1940) and exhibited widely throughout the region. Born in Iowa and trained at the Boston Museum School and MIT, Scott moved West in 1910. Though he worked professionally in commercial art and film production, landscape painting remained his lifelong passion. His works are now highly sought after by collectors of early 20th-century California Impressionism.
