This is RARE! This original fashion drawing dates to the early 1950s. It was a fashion ensemble design for the sophisticated woman of the time. We purchased it in Paris from a vendor who specializes in original fashion drawings. This was a lucky find for us as it is a rarity! It is a gouache and pen and ink drawing done on thick paper stock. Note the artistic styling of the jet black ensemble with its 3/4 sleeve jacket with a wide scooped neck worn with a below the knee skirt. The jacket detail with a bright yellow belt adds a highlight to the design. It is shown with mid-arm brown gloves and matching shoes. The design is sleek and chic and makes a statement. The design is timeless and is perfect for today's fashionista or vintage clothing collector. This drawing is one of several in our shop by the designer, Jean Pierre Fleurimon, who today is best known for his makeup and beauty cosmetics salon in Paris but whose early career focused on fashion design. Excellent, clean, condition. There is minor evidence of artist's brush mark on bottom edge; this is evidence of the authenticity of the illustrator's work. 5 x 10 inches in size. Comes mounted on black acid free paper.
