This original 1953 Mid-Century French vintage lipstick advertisement print is for Le Rouge Baiser, better known as the "The Red Kiss-Let's Kiss". The lipstick was groundbreaking at the time as it was the first long lasting lipstick. AND...it became highly coveted as it was the lipstick preferred by Audrey Hepburn! It was rumored to cross the Atlantic to highlight the lips of Miss Hepburn herself! The advertisement was illustrated by the famed graphic artist Rene Gruau. Gruau was a highly stylized illustrator whose work has become iconic with its simplicity and its graphic design.
