A vintage reproduction print of antique Ukiyo-e woodblock print by Utagawa Hiroshige, from his series, "The Fifty-three Stations of the Tōkaidō". Seventeenth station: Okitsu. In the title block: "The Okitsu River". A large wrestler, who because of his weight, is carried by four bearers, crosses the Okisu River in a palanquin followed by his companion sitting on the raft above the luggage. This reproduction print is not a woodblock reproduction, but offset, full-color print. Detailed. Comes from a rare art folio published by Editions du Credit Lyonnais in Paris, France, in 1960. Printed in France, on one side of high-quality heavy paper. Blank back, numbered on the back: XVIII. Nearly excellent condition - minor edge wear, it was pinned in the past, two tiny holes very close to the top corners were smoothed and are barely visible, never framed.
