A vintage reproduction print of antique Ukiyo-e woodblock print by Utagawa Hiroshige, from his series, "The Fifty-three Stations of the Tōkaidō Road". Thirty-Sixth Station: Akasaka. In the title block: "The Hotel Business and Its Seductive Waitresses." On the right, in a small room, the waitresses are busy with their toilet to seduce the travelers. In the center, a servant brings dinner on two trays. The blind masseur asks a traveler if he needs his care. On the left, another traveler, after taking his hot bath, enters the room through the veranda. This reproduction print is not a woodblock reproduction, but offset, full-color print. Detailed. Comes from a rare art folio published by Editions du Credit Lyonnais in Paris, France, in 1960. Printed in France, on one side of high quality heavy paper. Blank back, numbered on the back: XXXVII. Nearly excellent condition - minor edge wear, it was pinned in the past, two tiny holes very close to the top corners were smoothed and are barely visible, never framed.
