In the title block: "The Rain of Tora"; alluding to the tears of the beautiful courtesan Tora Gozen, originally from the place, and whose young lover Soga Sukenari was killed in 1193 by the guards of Lord Kudo Suketsune, whom he managed to assassinate to avenge the death of his father. This reproduction print is not a woodblock reproduction, but offset, full-color print. Detailed. Comes from a rare art folio published by Editions du Credit Lyonnais in Paris, France, in 1960. Printed in France, on one side of high-quality heavy paper. Blank back, numbered on the back: IX. Nearly excellent condition - minor edge wear, it was pinned in the past, two tiny holes very close to the top corners were flattened and are barely visible, never framed.
