Sens Contradictoire by Horst Egon Kalinowski, 1969, Paris France An aesthetically pleasing mid century colored etching. English translation, Contradictory sense. Horst Egon Kalinowski was bon in Germany in 1924 He studied at the Art Academy in his hometown Düsseldorf from 1945 to 1948. A stay of several years in Italy followed. In the early 1950s he moved to Paris, where his first gallery exhibition took place. In 1972 Kalinowski became a professor at the Karlsruhe Academy of Fine Arts, a position he held until his retirement. One of the artist’s characteristic features is his experimentation with different materials, which he composed for collages and object boxes. 20.75” x 26.625” x 0.875” (Width x Height x Depth) Sans Frame – 13” x 16.375”
