This beautiful original oil painting by esteemed Haitian folk artist Dieudonne Rouanez was purchased in 1978. Rouanez became popular as an artist for his vibrant portrayals of Caribbean life. This particular piece was done in Barbados, and on the back the artist has written "Barbados #1" in pencil. Rouanez's art hangs in many galleries, including the Myriam Nader Haitian Art Gallery.
