Limited edition lithograph by listed French Artist Sacha Chimkevitch, circa 1970's. The print is hand signed by the artist lower left, and numbered 39 out of an edition of 250. Chimkevitch was known for his abstract and semi-abstract works, often focusing on themes of jazz music, which he was passionate about since his youth. Original 27.5" x 21.5" Kulicke Contract brushed aluminum metal frame with plexiglas, labeled verso. Print condition is excellent, no issues noted, the plexiglas has some minor wear mentioned for accuracy only. Please note there are reflections on the plexiglas in the photos. Biography Born August 17, 1920 in Paris, Chimkevitch began studying architecture at the Beaux Arts in Paris, but studies were interrupted when he was called to serve his country and taken prisoner of war for five years. In 1945 he continued his studies with art courses at the Beauxs Arts in Paris, and Le Grande Chaumiere. He is well known as one of France's architectural planners. Chimkevitch's first exhibit was at Poitiers in 1950. He then participated in the Premier Salon of Jazz in Paris, the Salon de le Peinture a L'eau, and exhibited his works at the Salon d'Automne in the Museum.
