Composed of gouache, graphite, and colored pencil on paper, abstract lines and biomorphic shapes illustrate a stylized flamingo in predominately nude, gray, light purple, and red in this abstract work. The painting is signed, titled, and dated “Hilson Secret Umbra 7/6/82”. Harry Hilson was active from the 1950s-2000. He created a variety of works, including oil paintings, ink drawings, wool tapestries, and more. His studios could be found in New York, Los Angeles, and Aspen.
