This piece measures 8.5 x 14" and 4 x 6" across the print itself. It is dedicated to Helmie an ardent supporter of Mark Tobey whose dedication scared some including purportedly the artist himself. She spent the last 26 years of her life at an institutution according to the Whatcom Museum of Whatcom County in Washington State which hosted a show of 60 of Helmie's pieces. Jay Steensma is a well known Northwest artist of his own right. His partner Ree Brown was also an artist of some renown. This is a unique tribute to the late Helmie an exceptional female artist from the Northwest.
