Oil on canvas by Henry Clifford Warren, (1800-1889). Warren was a British painter who only later in life moved to Philadelphia where this painting was created. Perhaps his only oil done here. Gilt cove molded frame with fitted foliate corners. This painting has been long held in a local collection. Signed in heavy black ink on the lower stretcher bar, verso. As far as we can tell this is the only work to be specifically inscribed with his American address.
