Initialed "HY" in the print to the lower right, the work is displayed in a black frame and a white mat. Hodaka Yoshida was a Japanese modernist artist who was born into a family of artists. Yoshida worked primarily within the woodblock print and oil painting mediums, drawing inspiration from different artistic movements, including Expressionism, Photorealism and Pop.
