Barniff Flying Colors is part of a limited edition collection of six prints created by Alexander Calder in 1974, toward the end of his career. The series comes from Calder’s late period, when he was translating the movement and balance of his iconic mobiles into graphic works on paper. The collection is valued for its rarity and for clearly reflecting Calder’s signature use of bold color and flowing forms. Produced in a very small edition, these prints are considered an important and collectible example of his late printmaking practice.
