This oil painting on canvas is by artist Helen Matheny St. Clair (USA, 1931-2022) that measures 9”’X 12”. The art is then matted with a linen liner and placed inside a silver leaf frame with an overall size of 14” h X 17” w X 1.25”’d. Then the art itself has been placed under plexiglass for an even more impressive look, that just happens to be sunlight protective too. The artist’s signature is in the front lower right and the original gallery tag is on the backside. In excellent condition, except for a little minor staining to the linen liner. Helen St. Clair was an acclaimed American impressionist artist known for her soft brushstrokes and vibrant coastal and figural scenes. She was heavily associated with Maine's art community, famously exhibiting her oil paintings that often times were of Impressionist, with deliberate soft, blended ambiguity for the viewer’s interpretation.
