Up for sale is a rare original 19th century oil painting on board by John Burr (Scots/English, 1831-1893). It depicts a gorgeous school scene with a teacher surrounded by children reading. The painting is done with rich color in Burrs signature style and has a great composition. It's signed on the bottom right "John Burr" and in nice condition. The painting is set in a modern gilt wood and matted frame and in nice condition. It has normal ware from age and measures 16 inches by 14 inches framed.
