This oversized early 20th-century California landscape painting was commissioned by a local artist for my friend's great-grandmother between 1905-1920. It depicts one of her favorite creek spots in San Dimas, in the San Gabriel Valley of Los Angeles County, at the base of the San Gabriel Mountains. Intact in its original giltwood frame, it is a beautifully rendered painting that provides a record of what used to be. Unsigned.
