Note: Scrap Metal Fair and Ham Fair (Foire a la Ferraille et Foire au Jambon) After being successively located on the Ile de la Cité, then Quai des Grands-Augustins, Rue du Faubourg-Saint-Martin, and finally Boulevard Bourdon, the Ham Fair was transferred in 1869 by order of police, Boulevard Richard-Lenoir between Bastille and Boulevard Voltaire where it will occupy the central platform. Very early on, these food traders were joined by the flea market and antique and scrap metal dealers. The flea market, which took place until 1940 from Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday, took, after the Second World War, the rhythm of twice a year, in spring and autumn. It became known as the Foire a la Ferraille - Foire au Jambon. In 1969, the Paris Police Prefecture moved the Fair to the Beaubourg Plateau, and in February 1970, the Paris Prefect transferred it outside of Paris to Chatou. In memory of the time when it was located in the 11th arrondissement of Paris, the alleys of the Chatou fair were named after the names of streets and monuments of the 11th arrondissement: Boulevard Richard-Lenoir, Allée du Chemin-Vert, and Allée Bataclan.
