We recently acquired a fine, rare portfolio of sepia etchings after the original drawings created by the world famous Renaissance artist Raphael (Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino [Italy 1483-1520]. The etchings and printing were done by the listed Italian artist Paolo Fidanza (Italy 1731-1785).The etching is large...elephant folio size (15.25" x 20.5") and was printedin a rich sepia ink. The etching is printed on handmade paper and is printed on one side only. Only the etching is for sale. The mat and title page are not included. Our portfolio contains 90 different sepia etchings which we will be posting from time to time. If you require a large set for a huge wall treatment please inquire. His work is admired for its clarity of form, ease of composition, and visual achievement of the Neoplatonic ideal of human grandeur. Paolo Fidanza Italy 1731-1819) was a painter-etcher from Camerino, Italy. He published "Teste scelte di personaggi illustri" (the portfolio containing this etching in Rome between 1756 and 1766.
