Chefoo view of Settlement is an albumen print made by an unidentified photographic studio. Print in excellent condition, applied to hardcover. The photographer's name is printed on the lower right margin but is only partially visible. Caption in Italian ink hand-written on hardcover. Print 22 x 27.5 cm, cardboard 26 x 33.5 cm In the photograph a view of the European district of Chefoo, built during the 19th century by the European imperialists and which was one of the symbols of the Boxer revolt (1899-1901). The photograph was sooted from the bay, at the edge of the landscape the ''European'' style buildings are clearly visible. This print was originally purchased by an Italian soldier who participated in the closing stages of the Boxer Revolt as a foreign contingent (Regia Marina).
