Early 20th Century Hiroshige Night Prints: 14.5x6.5" Trio In Antique Henry Swasey Frames
Chairish$895
A rare, curated set of three 20th-century woodblock prints by Utagawa Hiroshige. These were professionally framed by the renowned Henry Swasey in Berkeley, CA (circa 1910-1925). The Collection: This set represents a "career retrospective" of Hiroshiges night scenes. Because they pull from different series, you will notice authentic variations in the signatures and cartouchesfrom his fluid early style to the bold red box signatures of his final years. 1. Saruwaka-machi: Famous theater district moon scene. 2. Tsukudajima: Fishing fires under a starlit sky. 3. Teahouse on Water: A lyrical, traditional landscape. Specs & Condition: Dimensions: Each print is approx. 14.5" x 6.5" (Panel format). Provenance: Original "Swaseys" labels on all three. Frames: Original dark wood. Two are pristine; one has a stable, professional repair on the side edge (not visible from front). A stunning, ready-to-hang piece of Berkeley Arts & Crafts
