Yet his work has been displayed minimally since the late 1960s. Thousands of Clay Walker’s creations have been lost to the art world for the past 40 years until shortly after Walker’s death in 2008. They were rediscovered when Muriel Walker was introduced to Perry Meyer, an art expert with a passion for 20th century original prints. Walker’s artwork was reintroduced to the public when Meyer Fine Art opened its first Walker retrospective in 2009; each year following the gallery has a solo Walker show March/April.
