This artwork titled "Street Market" c. 1935 is an oil painting on canvas by noted Italian artist Giovani Guarlotti, 1869-1954. It is signed at the lower left corner by the artist. The canvas size is 19.15 x 23.15 inches, framed is 25.5 x 29.5 inches. It is custom framed in a wooden gold frame, with fabric liner. It is invery good condition. About the artist: Giovanni Guarlotti (19 November 1869 – 9 May 1954) was a Piemontese painter, active mainly in Turin and generally in Italy. He was born in Galliate in the province of the Novara, to a well-to-do family. He first was studying to become an engineer, when he enrolled in the Accademia Albertina, where he became a pupil of Demetrio Cosola, Andrea Marchisio, and Pier Celestino Gilardi. Gilardi helps him exhibit at the Promotrice in Turin of 1894. He painted diverse subjects including portraits, figures, cityscape, landscapes and animals. He was influenced by the Liberty style and by the pittura a tocchi characteristic of the style of Enrico Reycend. Guarlotti died in Turin in 1954. The work of Giovani Guarlotti is held in numerous collections in Italy and Europe.
