Persian-American artist Goli Mahallati was born and raised in Persia and received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Tehran in 1977 and her MFA at the American International College. She received her doctorate from the University of Massachusetts. Mahallati's work explores the space between abstraction and figuration. Her work often features faceless, anonymous figures—solitary or in groups and uses warm earth tones in her deeply complex color stores. The artist's paintings are featured in galleries and exhibitions across the United States. Mahallati currently lives and works in Southern California.
