This large and imposing landscape depicts the still waters and rugged mystical hill tops of Ullswater lake in the English Lake District, as identified by the hand writing to the rear. Signed H Cooper and dated 1909 to the lower right hand corner, this  oil on canvas is presented in good order and  is mounted in a gilt and gesso frame of the period. Some minor loss of slip to edge only, otherwise in un damaged state. About Henry Cooper (1854 -1934) A British landscape artist, his works often depicting tranquil rural country scenes with rivers, fields and animals, he would travel the length and breadth of the country from south England to the Scottish highlands to capture the quintessential  British country side. His art has been listed at auctions regularly with his works commanding reliable prices over the years. This piece has an attribution mark, I am sure that it is completely authentic and take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution
