After Grammar School he served in the RAF and worked at the Royal Aircraft Establishment at Farnborough. He started painting seriously in the early 1960s and in 1968 he embarked on a painting career. He has sold his work in the UK and North America, exhibiting his work at the Sussex Gallery in Brighton and with the E Stacy-Marks Gallery in Eastbourne.
