Inscribed verso "Dora Masters" and painted circa 1960. A large, Post-Impressionist figural oil of a young woman shown facing the viewer with her gaze averted and surrounded and overlapped by organically-derived, polychrome pendant ovals in shades of slate-blue, turquoise, magenta and lavender. Dora Masters exhibited widely and with success throughout the 1950s and '60s, including at the San Francisco Art Association and the Carmel Art Association. We are pleased to offer an exuberant Modernist work by this listed California woman artist.
