After Etching of wonderful idealistic imagery of a beautiful pastoral scene, which depicts a group of 19th-century woman holding pails and walking down a bramble-bordered country path, with children and a dog. This work is presented behind a mat and under glass in a wooden frame that is wired for hanging. The Print is immaculate, the frame has several very light scuffs, not noticeable at all, unless inspected very close. Large Size measures Frame: 44-1/2” x 34-1/2” Actual Print Size is: 32” x 22” The Berry Pickers is a very beautiful After Etching done by one of America's foremost woman artist, Jennie Augusta Brownscombe (December 10, 1850 – August 5, 1936). She was an American painter, designer, etcher, commercial artist and illustrator. Brownscombe studied art for years in the United States and in Paris. She was a founding member, student and teacher at the Art Students League of New York. She made genre paintings, including revolutionary and colonial American history, most notably The First Thanksgiving held at Pilgrim Hall in Plymouth, Massachusetts. She sold the reproduction rights to more than 100 paintings, and images of her work have appeared on prints, calendars and greeting cards. Her works are in many public collections and museums. In 1899 she was described by New York World as "one of America's best artists."
