This heavily detailed etching shows how Rothenburg ob der Tauber is famously surrounded by intact 13th-14th century walls featuring several iconic gates (Stadttore) and 46 historical towers. Key, well-preserved gates include the towering Burgtor (Castle Gate), the southern Spitaltor (Hospital Gate) with its double-bastion design, and the Siebersturm forming part of the famous Plönlein area. This etching has a few of these landmarks, hand colored, encased in a golden frame with a wide, dark brown matte. It is in good condition for it's usage.
