Albert Arthur Allen was an early 20th century photographer whose early work focused on the portraiture of actors, celebrity and theater personalities. He began to sharpen that focus on burlesque actresses and by the 1920's was the leading art photographer of "Follies" and "Art Dancers", a thinly veiled reference to thinly veiled dancers. Having moved to Los Angeles in the early years of the 1900's he was at ground zero for the birth of the movie industry and segued his still photography to moving pictures, establishing his own moving pictures company that featured, quell surprise, nude and barely clad dancers and actress. Of course, the company was a great success! We have for sale a unique period print photograph by Albert Allen of art dancer's pose and has the photographers studio stamp on the back of the print. The photo is in excellent condition and framed in archival mat and backing board.
