Circa mid 1800s. Original copper engraving of The Lady Adeline by John Henry Robinson from an original painting by renowned artist Alfred Edward Chalon. Professionally framed and preserved. The Certificate of Authenticity is attached to the back. Adeline is Adeline Louisa Maria, Countess of Cardigan and Lancastre. She was the second wife of English peer James Brudenell, 7th Earl of Cardigan. She was the author of scandalous memoirs, My Recollections, published in 1909. Queen Victoria refused to have her at court because Cardigan had left his first wife. The framed engraving measures about 14.5 x 17 inches.
