This mid 19th century etching reproduction depicts two soldiers dressed in the style of the reigns of French kings Charles IX and Henry III. The print is titled "Soldats de la Garde de Charles IX et Henry III" (Soldiers of Charles IX and Henry III's Guard). This print is part of a larger book by the artist Nicolas Xavier Willemin (1763-1833), titled Monuments français inédits pour servir à l'histoire des arts depuis le VIe siècle jusqu'au commencement du XVIIe, published in 1839. I have several of these beautiful etchings listed and these would make a stunning wall display grouping.
