This poster is a reproduction of Walter Schnackenberg's 1920 poster promoting the decadent (and perhaps debaucherous) Munich cabaret Bonbonniere & Eremitage. This copy was printed in Berlin in a larger format with permission from frau G. Schnackenberg, presumably after his death in 1961. The date of creation is unknown. The costume and poster designs of Walter Schnackenberg defined ballet and cabaret during Germany's Weimar Republic. Notable museum collections and institutions featuring works by Walter Schnackenberg include Victoria and Albert Museum, Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, Cooper Hewitt, and the Smithsonian Design Library.
