Wyeth my personal favorite and of course Normal Rockwell Norman Rockwell agreed to meet a budding artist and young soldier from Washington State stationed in western Massachusetts in 1960. With a furlough coming up, the soldier wrote to his idol, Norman Rockwell, asking if he might be allowed to visit. Receiving an unexpected invitation by mail, he traveled to Stockbridge and was introduced to the artist.
