Signed lower right "B.L. Kersey" for Laurie Kersey (American - b.1961). A lovely portrait of a female entitled "Party Dress". This painting is oil on board with a gilt wood frame. Laurie Kersey was raised in an artistic household and grew up raising, training and racing harness horses. After attending the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, she enjoyed a 15 year career as an Art Director and Illustrator on the East Coast. Moving to San Francisco, she continued her studies at the Academy of Art University and later taught both painting and drawing in the Fine Art Department of the Academy. Kersey has exhibited widely and with success and has been the recipient of of numerous prizes, medals and juried awards including from the Oil Painters of America National Juried Exhibition, the American Women Artists National Exhibition and the California Art Club Biennial Exhibition. Her work has been featured in Art of the West, Plein Air, Fine Art Connoisseur and American Artist, among numerous other national publications. Laurie Kersey is a Signature Member of the California Art Club, Oil Painters of America, and American Impressionist Society, and a Master Signature Member of American Women Artists
