Original Abstract Painting By Orson Welles, Folk Art, Circa 1920’s, 30” X 24”

Chairish

$790

A school mate of Orson Welles (American 1915-1985) went to The Todd School in Woodstock, Illinois back in 1927 with the name of R. S. Buckley who lived not far away in Barrington, IL. The owner of this original piece of art was given this painting (Drawing) by Orson Welles right after he completed it and it has remained in the same family ever since until this offering. It’s colored pencil drawing on paper, mounted to a 1/4" plywood board. It isn’t framed, however it is recommended to have it framed to make it more important looking. Its overall measurement is 30” high X 24” wide X .25 deep. The backside has Orson Welles’ signature and the date of 1927, plus his valuation of $100,000.00 written in black paint. Not that it has much to do directly with this painting, but after attending school, Orson Welles worked one summer at Ravinia Park in Highland Park, Illinois before he fled to Ireland shortly after completing his schooling and this painting. It’s remains in good vintage condition and deserves to be framed for an important and handsome look. And it’s perfect for many people, either fans of Orson Welles, folk art collectors or alumni of the Todd School.
