Original Antique Monochrome etching with drypoint of St. Rumbold's Cathedral in Malines (now Mechelen), Belgium by Glasgow Artist William Renison, Late 19th Century. William Renison (1862-1940) was a Glasgow-born painter, etcher, and engraver who exhibited at the Fine Art Society, Royal Academy, Royal Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts, Royal Scottish Academy, Royal Hibernian Academy, MAFA, Walker Art Gallery, and at the Paris Salon. In 1999, the tower of the cathedral was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Dimensions: Frame 12.75” W x 0.5” D x 16.75” H Etching 7.25” x 10.25” In very good condition considering age and history. Zoom in on photos to see any imperfections the plate being a little loose, puckered in its matting. It would be a quick fix by a framer.
