Philip Gatward, Dahlia 7, Archival Pigment Print

Dahlia 7 is a gorgeous Archival Inkjet Print by contemporary photographer Philip Gatward. This print 16" x 20" in a limited edition of 50 prints. Gatward's first personal project, 'Dahlias', focussed on the intricacies of this unusual flower. A stunning Dahlia with egg-yolk yellow petals is enriched by crimson red tips which resemble brushstrokes on a canvas. The petals are elegant and sinuous in their structure, lending this portrait of the Dahlia an intriguing and fascinating atmosphere. In this ongoing and varied series, Gatward shoots his subjects, which range from flowers to animals, against the same neutral grey background, which brings out the fascinating symmetry of seeing something seemingly ordinary from very close up.
