This piece is made of plaster, reinforced with a thin layer of fiberglass. I wanted to make something symmetrical and geometrically simple, with a range of references. I was thinking of masks, building facades, and insects at natural history museums when I made this. I like being able to see more than one thing in a compositionally simple piece. This piece comes installed with hanging hardware and is meant to remain unframed.
