This imposing piece is pencil-signed and dated 83/84. Remarkably, it is numbered 1/50, making this a very special piece. Max Uhlig is one of the most important artists to emerge from the late 20th-century German art scene. His work is immediately recognizable with its mainly monotone palette and brutalist form construction, which often focuses on the human head. It is striking and moody. This piece was produced on art paper and mounted onto a black board backing. It is framed behind glass. The art is in excellent condition with no issues of note. The frame has some wear and nicks. The paper backing on the frame has a water stain, but the art is not affected. Framed, the piece measures 28.75" x 40".
