Antique print titled 'De Meerman van 't Noorder Gewest als Opper Directeur der zee-plaat verkruyers van het verkeerde Pampus beslaande de Achterhoede van het Papiere Actie-Schouburgs-regiment'. Satire on the financial crisis in 1720 showing a merman in a vessel; on the vessel are the coats-of-arms of seven cities in Northern Holland. Fame is standing behind the merman and puts a wreath made out of fish on his head. Behind the vessel is a smaller boat with bladders filled with air and bellows inside, the inscription on the side reads 'Wind ballast boot', in the background there is the city of Enkhuizen. Below the design there is an engraved verse in two columns. Satire on the investment scheme to build a port in the city Enkhuizen. One of a collection of prints bound together in two volumes titled 'Het Groote Tafereel der Dwaasheid', circa 1720.
