I Painted The Durbar Spirit to capture the raw energy and movement of the Durbar festival, a significant part of my cultural heritage. This piece focuses on the intensity of the riders and their horses as they charge forward, blurred by speed and the dusty heat of the day. I used a heavy impasto technique with a palette knife to give the horses a physical, sculptural presence, making the "inner fire" of the scene feel almost tangible. The vibrant oranges and reds of the sky and the riders represent the passion and history of this tradition. I wanted to capture the moment when individual figures blend into a single force of power and resilience. This work is a tribute to the strength of those who keep these stories alive and the thrilling beauty found in a shared moment of victory.
