The Farewell is a contemporary limited edition print from my Of a [Familiar] Nature series, created in 2025. Digitally hand-drawn, the work reflects on the relationship between nature and the built world, and on the ways human presence shapes the spaces around us. In this piece, I was thinking about separation, transition, and the strange emotional weight that can gather around a moment of departure. For me, the work holds a sense of stillness, but also of unease — as if something is being left behind while something else remains unresolved. I was interested in the way tenderness, loss, and vulnerability can exist alongside the instinct to endure. Like the other works in this series, it sits in that space where the natural world feels both intimate and shaped by human feeling, and where beauty is inseparable from disturbance. Offered as a limited-edition archival pigment print on paper, framed in a 2" solid white wood frame, in two sizes: 38" x 38" framed, edition of 5; and 26" x 26" framed, edition of 10.
