$1,700

This semi abstract watercolor on paper is by Theodore Polos (1901-1976). It measures 23.5 x 17.5 inches (31.5 x 25 framed). It is signed in the lower right. The painting is in very good condition. It is nicely matted and framed with an acid-free mat and a ¾” wide gold frame. The very nice wooden frame is in good condition. The matte gold surface has a burnt umber undercoat that is faintly visible in small striations, but the undercoat is more visible in some areas than others, notably the upper area of the right frame. Please see pictures. Painter and lithographer, Theodore Polos was born in Mytilene, Greece on Feb. 16, 1901. Polos emigrated to Boston in 1916 and to San Francisco in 1922.
